Steel keel stand with V-top, 2,750 kg per stand (LCKg 3/4) I TYRESÖSTÖTTAN

The TYRESÖSTÖTTAN LCKg 3 and LCKg 4 steel keel stands carry a substantial part of the boat’s weight through the keel. Together with boat stands positioned on both sides of the hull, they form a stable storage system: the keel stands carry the weight, while the side stands keep the boat upright and prevent it from tipping sideways.

With a maximum load capacity of 2,750 kg per stand, both compact versions are suitable for motorboats and sailing boats. Depending on the boat’s weight, keel length and weight distribution, several keel stands or a combination of keel stands and timber blocks may be required.

The keel stand is positioned beneath the keel and adjusted continuously to the required height using the trapezoidal thread and large wing nut. This is easier than cutting and stacking timber blocks of different heights. If necessary, the height can be precisely readjusted after the boat has been positioned.

The V-shaped top helps to position the keel centrally on the stand. Its profiled EPDM surface protects the keel and improves grip.

The hot-dip galvanized steel construction provides long-lasting corrosion protection. This makes the keel stands suitable for private boat owners as well as regular use by boat clubs, marinas and boatyards.

The keel stands are easy to assemble and can be taken apart again after the winter storage season. This allows them to be transported and stored with less space.

Two heights available

• LCKg 3: 590–750 mm, load capacity 2,750 kg per stand, weight approx. 13.5 kg
• LCKg 4: 420–580 mm, load capacity 2,750 kg per stand, weight approx. 10.7 kg

Both versions feature a profiled EPDM pad measuring 310 × 160 × 25 mm.

The footprint of the LCKg 4 forms a triangle with sides measuring approximately 45 cm each.

Whenever possible, select the size so that the required height is not at the extreme end of the adjustment range and sufficient room remains at the wing nut for further adjustment.

Which boats are the keel stands suitable for?

The LCKg keel stands can be used for motorboats, long-keel boats and sailing boats, provided the shape and width of the keel are suitable for the support. The decisive factors are the keel shape, the weight of the boat and its weight distribution – not only the type of boat.

Several keel stands can be positioned along a longer keel. For short or narrow keels and special keel designs, a combination with suitable timber blocks may be appropriate.

The compact LCKg 4 is particularly suitable where there is little clearance between the keel and the ground. The taller LCKg 3 provides an adjustment range from 590 to 750 mm.

Combining keel stands and boat stands

The keel stands carry a substantial part of the boat’s weight. However, they cannot prevent the boat from tipping sideways. Suitable boat stands must therefore be positioned on both sides of the hull.

The straight LCMg boat stands are suitable for flat or only slightly angled hull sections. For sailing boats and steeply angled or V-shaped hull sections, we recommend the angled LCFg boat stands.

Only correctly installed keel stands and side stands together form a complete storage system.

Important installation information

Position the keel stand only on firm, level ground with sufficient load-bearing capacity. The support must be centred beneath the keel. Ensure that the keel rests evenly on the pad and that the maximum load capacity of 2,750 kg per stand is not exceeded.

The number and position of the keel stands depend on the boat’s weight, keel length, keel shape and weight distribution. The load capacities of several stands must not simply be added together without considering the actual distribution of the load.

Suitable boat stands must also be positioned on both sides of the hull to keep the boat upright and prevent it from tipping. Please observe the instructions provided by the boat manufacturer and your winter storage facility. If you have any questions, we will be happy to help.
