NOA Deck frame

The NOA Deck Frame provides a lightweight and stable supporting structure for winter covers. It is preconfigured for sailing boats with a bow and stern rail and is available in three sizes.

Assembly is straightforward: the individual ridge tubes are joined using straight tube connectors. The telescopic supports are then attached to the ridge tube with T-connectors and adjusted to the required height.

The rail supports are securely attached to the bow and stern rails using NOA rail mounts. Depending on the shape of the boat, the deck supports are positioned on suitable areas such as the coachroof, cockpit sole or coaming. This allows the frame to be installed on deck without extensive modifications.

The telescopic supports allow the height and roof angle to be adjusted to suit the boat. This helps rainwater and melting snow to run off while maintaining sufficient space between the winter cover and the boat for ventilation.

Three sizes for different boat lengths

The NOA Deck Frame is available in three preconfigured versions:

• Deck Frame 8–10 m
• Deck Frame 11–13 m
• Deck Frame 14–16 m

The versions differ in the overall length of the ridge tube and in the number and length of the supports included. The exact contents of each version are shown in the table below the product description.

The boat length stated by the manufacturer is not the only factor to consider when selecting the correct size. What matters is the total length that needs to be covered by the winter cover. If the anchor, bowsprit or bathing platform is also to be covered, these areas must be included when determining the required frame length. The required Deck Frame may therefore be longer than the boat hull itself.

The ridge tube does not need to extend beyond the area being covered. The length of the frame can be adjusted by changing the number of tube sections used and, if necessary, shortening the final ridge tube. To cover a total length of 8 m, for example, use four of the five supplied 2 m ridge tubes from the 8–10 m Deck Frame. For intermediate lengths, the final tube can be cut to the required size.

Well-designed components for straightforward installation

The supports are attached to the ridge tube using strong T-connectors and secured with an 8 mm hex socket screw. The rail mounts are fitted with plastic inserts selected to match the diameter of the stainless steel rail. They provide a secure grip, protect the rail tube against scratches and prevent direct contact between the aluminium mount and the stainless steel rail.

NOA rail mounts for 25 mm rails are included as standard. Please contact us if the rail tubes on your boat have a different diameter.

All aluminium components are carefully finished and deburred by NOA to prevent sharp edges from damaging the winter cover.

Stability information

For maximum stability, the telescopic supports should not be fully extended. Depending on how exposed the winter storage location is to wind, the distance between the supports should ideally not exceed approximately 2 m. Additional supports may be required in particularly exposed locations.

The T-connectors are made from cast aluminium and secured with stainless steel screws. To help prevent galvanic corrosion, we recommend treating the screw connections with grease, oil or TEF-GEL.

Custom configurations and extensions

If none of the three standard versions is suitable for your boat, we can customise the length, number and type of supports. Simply send us photographs and the most important dimensions of your boat.

The Deck Frame can also be extended with additional ridge tubes and supports or later adapted to create a NOA Overhang Frame or A-Frame.

Shipping information

The frame is supplied in cartons up to 2.50 m long and shipped as oversized freight by a forwarding company. Please provide a delivery address where the shipment can be accepted on working days. Shorter transport lengths are available on request.
