Stanchion Connectors for 25 mm Guardrail Tubes

These connectors are the correct solution if you already have your own 25 mm stainless steel tube and want to use it to build an equipment rail for mounting solar panels on your boat. They are the same connectors supplied with our complete “Stainless Steel Solar Panel Mounting Kit 2.0 m × 25 mm”.

The two connectors secure the stainless steel tube between two rail stanchions. Both connectors feature an M10 thread and an integrated tensioning mechanism. This allows the connection to be adjusted at both ends and the lifeline to be tensioned again after installation.

Installation requirements

The M10 threaded sections of the connectors pass through the existing holes in the rail stanchions normally used for the lifeline. These holes must be large enough for the M10 threads to pass through. Please check the diameter of the existing holes before ordering.

Two 6 mm holes must be drilled in the 25 mm stainless steel tube to secure the connectors. Drill one hole through one wall of the tube at each end. Do not drill completely through both sides of the tube.

These holes lock the tube and connectors together and prevent the stainless steel tube from rotating after installation. This is particularly important when solar panels or other equipment are mounted on the tube.

Depending on the existing rail system, the lifeline may need to be shortened and fitted with a new fork terminal.
