Solar panel mounting kit for guardrail stanchions, stainless steel

Our Solar Panel Mounting Kit provides a stable mounting base for installing a solar panel between two existing rail stanchions. The stainless steel tube replaces the existing lifeline in this section and provides a rigid support for your solar panel.

The kit consists of a 2 m stainless steel tube with a diameter of 25 mm and two matching end fittings. The tube can be shortened to fit the distance between the rail stanchions.

Installation requirements

The M10 threaded sections of the end fittings pass through the existing holes in the rail stanchions previously used for the lifeline. These holes must be large enough for the M10 threads to pass through. Please check the diameter of the existing holes before ordering.

Both end fittings feature an M10 thread and an integrated tensioning mechanism. This allows the connection to be adjusted at both ends and the remaining lifeline to be tensioned again after installation.

In most cases, the existing lifeline must be shortened and fitted with a new fork terminal.

Shortening and securing the stainless steel tube

The stainless steel tube can be cut to the required length and adjusted precisely to the distance between the existing rail stanchions.

Two 6 mm holes must be drilled in the stainless steel tube to secure the end fittings. Drill one hole through one wall of the tube at each end. Do not drill completely through both sides of the tube.

These holes lock the tube and end fittings together and prevent the stainless steel tube from rotating after installation. This is particularly important when a solar panel or other equipment is mounted on the tube.

Mounting the solar panel
