Aluminium & Stainless Steel Tubes

Tubes for Cover Frames and Custom Frame Constructions

Our aluminium and stainless steel tubes form the basis for building, extending and repairing boat cover frames. The different tube diameters are designed for specific applications within the frame and can be combined with suitable telescopic supports, tube connectors and fittings. We offer aluminium tubes with outside diameters of 25 mm, 30 mm and 35 mm as well as stainless steel tubes with an outside diameter of 25 mm.

Lightweight, Strong and Suitable for Use on Boats

For our cover frames, we use aluminium tubes made from high-quality, corrosion-resistant aluminium. They combine low weight with the stability required for frame construction. Especially with larger cover frames, the low weight makes the individual components easier to assemble, dismantle and store.

For applications where stainless steel is preferred or makes sense for the construction, we also offer 25 mm stainless steel tubes.

Which Tube for Which Application?

35 mm – for ridge tubes and supporting structures

We primarily use the 35 mm aluminium tube as a ridge tube. It usually runs along the centre of the boat and forms the upper line of the cover frame over which the winter or protective cover is tensioned. The 35 mm tube is also suitable for custom roof constructions. It can be used to build raised frames over flybridges and helm stations or to create additional headroom beneath the cover – particularly useful if you want to work on deck or on the boat during winter storage.

We also use the 35 mm tube as the outer tube of our telescopic supports. Combined with a 30 mm inner tube, it forms a stable, length-adjustable support.

30 mm – for telescopic supports and overhang frames

The 30 mm aluminium tube is used, among other applications, as the inner tube for telescopic supports with a 35 mm outer tube. It can also serve as the main tube for further constructions like the stern arch. In overhang frames, for example, 30 mm tubes are used for parts of the frame construction running along the outside of the boat.

25 mm – for rail supports and bracing

We use 25 mm tubes for rail supports and other bracing within cover frame constructions. In overhang frames, these supports can be used to hold and brace the structure extending beyond the sides of the boat.

Depending on the application, 25 mm tubes are available in aluminium or stainless steel.

Coordinated Tube Diameters

The different tube diameters form part of a modular system. Depending on the construction, tubes can be telescoped into one another, combined to create adjustable supports or connected using suitable tube connectors and fittings.

This makes it possible not only to build complete cover frames, but also to repair, extend or adapt existing constructions to changing requirements.

Custom Lengths Available

In addition to our standard lengths, many of our tubes can also be supplied in custom lengths:

  • 30 mm and 35 mm aluminium tubes: up to 3 m
  • 25 mm stainless steel tubes: up to 2 m

Need a different length or not sure which tubes you need for your cover frame? Simply contact us – we will be happy to help you select the right components.

Suitable for NOA and OUTMAR Cover Frames

We offer suitable replacement tubes in the required diameters and dimensions for NOA Cover Frames. This allows you to repair, extend or individually modify an existing NOA Cover Frame. The tubes are also used in our custom OUTMAR Cover Frames and can be combined with suitable telescopic supports, tube connectors and fittings to create complete frame solutions.
