NOA Overhang Deck Frame

Designed for applications where the winter cover should be positioned with deliberate clearance away from the hull. Unlike traditional deck frame systems, the cover does not rest directly against the boat. This creates significantly better airflow while also preventing friction, abrasion, and dirt marks caused by the cover rubbing against the hull.

The system is referred to by NOA as an “Outlaying Frame”. At OUTMAR, we use the term “Overhang Deck Frame” because it more clearly describes the function of the system.

A NOA Overhang Deck Frame is especially suitable for:

  • sensitive or dark-painted hulls
  • wooden boats requiring maximum ventilation
  • osmotic blister repairs and hull drying processes
  • situations where work on the hull is still required

The system can be adjusted flexibly in both height and distance from the hull, making it ideal for demanding winter storage solutions and longer lay-up periods.

For installation on sailboats, the rail stanchions and lifelines are removed and replaced with the NOA support system using the existing stanchion bases.

Important Information – Deck Fitting Type Required

Please check the design of the stanchion bases or rail fittings on your boat before ordering. On some boats, the stanchion bases have a solid upright pin onto which the rail stanchion is mounted. On other boats, the rail stanchion is inserted directly into the stanchion base. The NOA Overhang Deck Frames are designed as standard for stanchion bases where the rail stanchion is inserted into the base. For boats with solid upright pins, special support tubes are available separately.
