Boat Davits

A davit is a "rotating and swiveling crane-like device on ships" (Duden.de) with which heavy loads such as dinghies, jet skis or even the gangway as well as cargo on deck can be lifted, set down and, if necessary, stored.

To choose the right davit for your requirements, it is helpful to answer the following questions in advance:

• What weight is to be lifted and lowered?
• Is the ship or the installation site designed for these loads?
• Can they be adequately secured at the installation site (e.g. hanging from the davit) (wind pressure, wave impact, etc.)?
• How large/wide are the loads?
• Do you need additional fittings / tools to be able to lift this load - inflatable boats may need additional lashing eyes, outboards need lifting straps, ...
• Is a permanently mounted davit or an attachable and detachable solution preferred?
